Bangabandhu, a true warrior in all sense.
A man who fought with will and wit for our defence.
Banagbandhu, the greatest Bangali of all ages indeed.
He embedded within us a new recognition’s seed.

Instilled within us a new sense of freedom.
Awakened our inner spirits and a new found wisdom.
It is his struggles due to which we walk with our heads high.
It is his words which made our patriotism fly.

He was rightly named Bangabandhu – Bangla’s friend.
Who with all his might made the Pakistani rule end.
He made us feel proud for what we all are today.
Amidst the mention of Bangladesh, his name shall always find a way.

His historic 7th March’s speech still echoes clear in my heart.
It forces our inner rebels to restart.
The horrifying date of 15th August condemns his death by our nation.
Yet he shall always be remembered by all for his emancipation.

Forgive us dear friend for that brutal assassination.
Today we solemnly seek your forgiveness and compassion.
Thank you for everything you did for Bangladesh.
Thank you for building our nation afresh.

We shall always stay indebted to you.
All we want to say is, ‘Thank You!’
