Sharif Mezba
Poetry
was the winter view from the bridge
My coat wrapped round you
Eyes everywhere, finding something warm
we escaping from the keen stare
poetry
was the wind in your hair
The books you touched to read
your attention to my college stories
hug, at the end of a day trip
poetry
was the evening crimson sky
the waves in the umbrellas by the beach
the stillness of boats stuck in sand
Out our reach, the sun, bidding farewell
Poetry
is you, having forgotten my smell
unable to decipher the cravings
A day spent well and breathing fine
gulping drinks, oblivious you were mine.
Sharif Mezba has an ocean-filled heart and it won’t be long when the waves will bring out all of his Art for the whole world to cherish.
